The community was formed after the National Founding Mothers realized the need to unite, serve, and educate the campus and community.

The concept of Delta Kappa Delta came into existence on October 1, 1999, at the campus of Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. At the time of its inception, Texas A&M University had greater than 40,000 students. Prior to obtaining the Greek letters of Delta Kappa Delta, it was B.E.T.I.S. (Behind Every True Indian Sister) that was formed as the grass roots service organization. Since the inception of this online association, it has grown tremendously and has stretched its desire to serve to several cities in Texas and on the East Coast.
