Students at Duquesne University conduct website usability testing of client wesbties for web design firm Blue Archer in Pittsburgh, PA.

Pittsburgh, PA (1888PressRelease) October 14, 2010 - Web interface design students in the Journalism and Multimedia Arts (JMA) program at Duquesne University will study and test selected websites developed by Blue Archer for web design usability. This study will require students to use design assessment instruments, operate usability software, and collect and analyze data.

"This educational activity provides students a 'real-world' opportunity to interact with and learn from the web design and development professionals at Blue Archer," Professor William Gibbs.

Using the JMA usability lab, students will observe how people use the websites provided by Blue Archer. Students will also record users' success and efficiency at finding information, their understanding of the information and its organization, and their impressions of design and layout, according to Dr. Gibbs. The goal of a web design usability study is to detect usability problems, which might ultimately make sites easier and more enjoyable for people to use.

Students will begin the web design usability study in October and will present their findings to Blue Archer in December.
